South Queensferry High Street

Latest Polaroid Painting – continuing the South Queensferry series.

The black building with the white windows is said to be the oldest building on the street and was built in 1626 for a sea captain. When he was lost at sea his servant was accused of having paid a beggar woman to cast a spell which caused his drowning. Both women were burnt for witchcraft.
