I haven’t done a simple picture post for a long time – so here are some from my recent trip to Amsterdam . I was shooting with my Polaroid during that trip – but these were all little glimpses of Amsterdam using Iphonography.
The Lloyd Hotel was built originally as a hotel for emigrants, mostly from Eastern Europe, on their way to the New World. Later on it was a young offender’s institute. They have tried to retain as much of the previous structure as possible , which explains the interesting arrangements in some of the rooms. In front of the hotel I spotted this photo/ audio installation with a sound track of interviews with the subjects who are all people who live on the houseboats moored nearby. I thought it was a very effective idea.
