Happy Easter.

Romanian Easter Eggs

Busy doing Eastery things yesterday but still couldn’t resist posting this photo of eggs from Romania. I usually bought a few every trip – mostly from women selling their wares outside the painted monasteries in Moldavia. They are made using a batik type technique with the designs drawn in wax before painting. Should you be similarly tempted then egg boxes or carton tubes make good packaging. I only ever had one egg crack before getting it home.

If you have the chance to go to that part of the world they really are worth a visit. Each monastery is painted with a different dominant colour. ( And often the colour is then named after the monastery.) There are many , and they all have a different charm, but my favourite one is Moldovita.
