This week’s Five on a Friday post is from Mary Gordon of Creative Voyage – an Edinburgh based film-maker, photographer and Artist’s Way Facilitator . Here next Artist’s Way group starts on the 2nd of February. When she’s not busy with those projects she can usually be found with some crochet or knitting on the go.

“I’m washing out glass jars as its marmalade making season. I love the cheeriness of the colour and the zing of the taste.   A history of marmalade here .

Recently a friend of mine was editing the obituary of a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and reported that one extremely eccentric fellow would not go anywhere without a supply of toast and marmalade which makes one think that Paddington Bear had a career change! A guide to marmalade making here

With the weather variable I’m rediscovering the joys of my local library. Of the past year I’ve been a voracious detective book reader and a new discovery is Catriona MacPherson’s Dandy Gilver series set in Scotland in the 1930’s

Offsetting lack of colour at this time of year is this blog Lets Colour .  Be sure to check out their documentary on India and colour .

Back in Scotland when I crave colour I look to the Scottish Colourists .

Finally the planning of a long railway adventure gives me much joy– my favourite resource is Seat 61 – endless pleasure imagining slow journey’s across continents.”
