Saturday in the city

Edinburgh has a terrific Farmer’s Market every Saturday morning. Come rain or shine there are always a good collection of stalls selling everything from organic vegetables to porridge to wonderful breads. You can tell the favourites by the length of the queues and one of the most popular is the bakery stall called Falko run by a German baker who settled in Edinburgh and bakes a whole range of traditional German breads and cakes. I don’t eat that much bread or wheat but I am happy to make an exception for these breads. Fantastic with just a touch of butter and a bowl of soup. The Linzer Torte is also just perfect !
