About

rhiannon_connelly1

I’m an artist / designer currently based on the outskirts of Edinburgh, Scotland.  In the past my blog was largely about my Polaroid  and professional photography  work . An important element was  travel related , such as the “12 City Project” which saw me spend a week  in 12  European cities over the course of a year,  using up the last of my Polaroid film supply.

Now that this film is no longer available  I have spent the last few years exploring other artistic directions. Iphonography has played an important part , and then painting and surface pattern design . (In a way I  have come full circle  as I used to be a textile designer many years ago, selling to the likes of Jenners and Liberty of London.) This is currently my main focus and I’ll be exhibiting for the first time at Surtex in New York next May.

As a “resting” Blue Badge tourist guide, with more than 20  years  experience taking groups round Scotland and Europe,  travel remains very important to me – both as a source of inspiration and as a way to recharge the well. I’m not planning on returning to guiding groups in the near future, although I do have plans to do some very small personalised tours next year, if time allows.

If you’d like to keep in the loop with studio goings on you can get subscribe to my Studio Newsletter here.

My  main website is here  – www.rhiannonconnelly.com

And my Etsy shop is here – www.starrybluesky.etsy.com

At the momemnt a small collection of my South Queensferry images are hanging in the Jitterbean Cafe, South Queensferry. Previous  exhibitions include Newington Library Edinburgh 2010, Gallery Cafe Ullapool 2009, Gladstone Gallery Edinburgh April 2009  and Bank Street Gallery Kirriemuir in 2008.
